Tasks

In this scenario, you will be working on the preliminary design task you set up in Scenario 1.

1.) Select the "Set Up System View" task from the Project Tree.

2.) Construct your System View as per the following parameters:

-Line 1 contains Trunk Assembly 1
-Trunk Assembly 1 contains Welder 1
-Welder 1 contains Motor 1
-Motor 1 contains Start 1
-Start 1 uses Ladder File "Start1Ladder"

3.) Copy Welder 1 and Paste it onto Trunk Assembly 1. Name it Welder 2.

user feedback

general interaction comments

"I would not call this a system view- I would call it an equipment overview. We would set up a system / equipment view if we had the ability to do that. The controls guys should be able to set up the system view, not the project manager."
Users with more project management experience tended to like our example of a "system view".  Users with less project management experience liked to see the system in a tree view.
User thinks this looks like a Project View or CPM type of an application. User feels this would be very useful for even a small business.
Finalizing the Functional Specification is the most critical part of our projects whether it is a new project or a retrofit of and existing project.
User feels this should be a project model. Data entry points into the plant, inventory control, See drawing below:

"functionality to add" comments

"What I don't see at this point is anything that talks about hardware requirements. What falls onto critical path is PLC's, I/O's, Switchgear, circuit breakers, etc. If this is a project I want to see hardware and software in the initial Project set-up in the BOM."
"I would want to design equipment view like it is done in OEE."
